Jen and her family settled in Howard County back when she was a freshman in high school. And her first job as a teenager was working at the Columbia ice rink’s snack bar. Even back then, Jen knew she loved interacting with people. So, after graduation, she set out building a career in retail management.
In her most recent role, Jen set up and managed “pop-up” boutiques in hospitals around Maryland. The shops carried everything nurses, doctors and techs would need—from scrubs to high-end shoes to stethoscopes.
Jen says, “Throughout my career, I’ve always gravitated to roles where I can work one-on-one with people in the community. And I just loved managing all the details that go into running a successful retail operation. But when COVID hit, I realized I wanted to branch out and do something a little different.”
That’s when Jen set about getting her real estate license. And since making the change, she’s never looked back…
“I’ve helped a lot of people buy and sell homes in Howard, Baltimore, Anne Arundel, and Carroll counties as well as in Baltimore City. But I’ve also gained a lot of life-long friends along the way. In fact, I just met with a friend and former client in her new home. She wanted me to see how she’s decorated everything in the new place.”
Jen says she’s deeply committed to helping her clients through the process, no matter how long it takes in the current market. “When I’m working with buyers, I want them to know that I’m here for them over the long haul. Whether it takes one day or six months, we’ll eventually find the right house together.”
Jen especially loves setting up “open houses” for her sellers…and visiting them with her buyers. “For my sellers, it’s just so much fun to host an event. And for my buyers, it’s fun to explore the home together. It’s also a chance to build relationships and get to know other buyers and agents, too.”
Most of Jen’s clients are first-time home buyers. And she says in a low inventory market, it can take three to four offers, on average, to get them into a home. “So, education and persistence are key.”

When not exploring homes with clients, Jen and her husband enjoy traveling and spending time at the beach with their two kids. She and her husband recently celebrated their 25th anniversary with a cruise to the Bahamas. And they hope to go back one day soon. Jen’s also an avid shopper, and some of her favorite spots around town include Kohl’s, TJ Maxx and Ulta Beauty. They also love hanging out at their home in Sykesville with their chocolate lab, Lola, and their cat, Hailey.
